About the event

Feel free to drop in or out whenever it's convenient, this is a casual event to socialize with other folks in effective altruism and learn a bit more about EA. Bottledog offers vegan, vegetarian, and even gluten-free options to serve all palates. Come meet new friends and discuss interesting topics with a fun group of folks!

Our discussion topic will be Volunteering vs. Donating. Specifically we'll chat about whether most organizations prefer dollars or time from volunteers, and the pros and cons of each.

Some food for thought: - Article on Effective Volunteering: https://forum.effectivealtruism.org/posts/ScLHyCY6JCr5FtuiY/effective-volunteering

- Does the organization have enough capacity to easily utilize volunteers?

- Could volunteers create legal risk for the charity?

- How much of the charity's constraints are funding constrains versus personnel constraints?
